The company that provides school meals has pledged to continue working with headteachers after Croydon Council decided to stop managing the contract in August.
Many primary schools across the borough were left wondering how they would feed their pupils when the council announced it swould no longer manage the school meals contract when it expired in April next year.
However, Eden Foodservices, the catering division of Rentokil Initial, told website Caterer Search they had met with 60 per cent of schools in Croydon who were keen to retain their services.
Simon James, managing director, said: “Everybody else is incredibly positive and I am confident we will retain a significant number of those schools based on what we’ve done over the past few years.”
