On September 30th, KFC employees in Thornton Heath will take part in a 2 hour sponsored litter pick as part of KFC's fourth annual World Hunger Relief initiative to raise money for the United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP). Together with staff from seven other restaurants around Croydon they will carry out the litter pick in Lloyd Park.
Throughout September, KFC’s 20,000 employees and franchisees will take part in various activities throughout the UK, with the aim of raising awareness of hunger in some of the poorest countries in the world. Last year, KFC UK and Ireland raised over £400,000 for WFP, and the aim this year is to raised even more.
Nick Barnett, Area Coach for Croydon said: "All the staff are really committed to helping out the community and making this our best ever fundraising year. It costs just 15p provides a meal for a child, and people can donate at their local KFC."
