Dancers and singers worked up an appetite at a food festival last week.
Older people performed at a international food fair held in Mitcham during the final week of Merton’s Celebrating Age festival.
The feast from around the world, which took place at the Hub on Friday morning, was one of the last events in a month-long programme including arts and crafts workshops, dance classes and day trips.
The destinations visited included Hampton Court, the Costwold Hills and the RAF museum in Hendon. Active older people also took part in rambles at outdoor spots including the North Downs and Wimbledon Common - as well as picnics, poetry readings, scrabble competitions and mosaic classes.
The festival was organised by Merton Council and the borough’s voluntary groups.
