A car crash at the junction of Sutton Park Road and Cheam Road is believed to have occurred after the driver passed out at the wheel.
The accident happened at around 11.40 this morning.
The female driver was driving along Sutton Park Road at the time. She reportedly hit a traffic light, careered across Cheam Road and smashed through a traffic bollard before hitting a wall on the pedestrian only The West Walk, next to the Civic Centre and the Central Library.
One witness said: “She was shaking with shock after the crash. Mums with prams had been crossing the road just moments before. The driver said she must have passed out because she remembers driving along the road – but the next thing she remembered was coming to after her car hit the wall.”
