Firefighters fought a blaze in a Croydon fast food restaurant yesterday.
Six fire engines and some 24 firefighters were called at 5.50pm to Charlie's Fried Chicken in Limpsfield Road, Sanderstead, to a fire which started in the restaurant's store room.
The blaze was contained within the room, and was completely out at 7.29pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus searched through the smoke filled premises but found no one stuck inside.
A firefighter from Croydon fire station said the building, including an upstairs flat, had already been evacuated when fire crews arrived.
No one was hurt in the fire.
The London Fire Brigade are investigating what caused the blaze.
