A motorist was cut out of his car and taken to hospital this morning after a collision between two cars in Mitcham.
Both vehicles were badly damaged in the collision in Wandle Road at the junction of Bishopsford Road at about 3am.
Firefighters needed to cut the roof off one vehicle, and lift the man out because he was trapped.
He was then taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital with a neck injury.
The roads were closed off and diversions put in place while the rescue took place and the vehicles removed.
Norbury fire station's red watch manager Michael Barratt said police were at the scene but no one was arrested.
