Girlguiding recently held a private viewing of their current exhibition ‘Here come the Girl Guides: 100 years of Guiding in London’ at The Museum of London (Docklands).

Among the invited dignitaries and supporters of Girlguiding was Sutton Mayor, Councillor Margaret Court who was presented with a guiding Ambassador badge in recognition of her support.

Councillor Court has supported Guiding and visited various events including the Greater London West annual review and Mother and Daughter Picnic.

As an ambassador for Guiding, she agrees with the principles of Guiding and will promote Guiding whenever she can in her wider social and work activities and during her second term as Mayor.

Christine Wicks, County Commissioner for Girlguiding Greater London West, said: "We are extremely pleased that Councillor Court has agreed to be an ambassador.

"We will keep her notified of our activities and she knows, being a former Guide, she will be very welcome to join us any time she can."

The free exhibition Here come the Girl Guides: 100 years of Guiding in London is being held to celebrate the centenary of Guiding and is on at The Museum of London (Docklands) until the end of October 2010.
