A broken-down overground train is adding to tube strike frustration for passengers in Streatham, Sutton and Wimbledon.
The First Capital Connect (FCC) Thameslink service has broken down at Streatham station, causing added travel disruption as a London Underground strike continues.
An FCC spokesman said delays of 45 minutes were expected until this afternoon, as another train is brought to the station to tow the broken down vehicle to a depot. The service links Wimbledon, Mitcham, Sutton and Streatham with the city.
The spokesman said the breakdown was because of an air pressure problem, and no-one had been stuck on the carriages.
Today’s London Underground strike by unions RMT and TSSA, caused by a dispute over reduced opening hours, is set to disrupt tube services across the city until tomorrow. For more information about the breakdown visit firstcapitalconnect.co.uk
