Sutton and Epsom Ladies Rugby team began the season in style with a 24-0 victory over Lewes.
A hesitant start in the first 10 mins soon gave way to Sutton's first try scored by Becky Russell running straight through the opposition, this was swiftly converted by Rhian Clarkson for their first points.
Sutton played some excellent rugby with a series of quick phases down the pitch towards the try line. A penalty given away by Lewes was taken quickly by Rowena King who dived over the line for their second try of the match, converted by Rhian Clarkson.
Into the second half it wasn't long before Sutton scored again, with Captain Philippa Whittingham going over the line for Sutton's third. Lewes came back with some good defence and moves, but it was Sutton again for the final try of the match. Set up by Evita Kleinschmidt, a quick offload at the tryline meant another try for Sutton scored by Caroline Quinn bringing the final score to 24-0.
