Two youngsters were left terrified when a thug pushed them and their mum to the ground as they stood on a doorstep in Tadworth.
The yob shoved the 37-year-old woman in the chest, causing her children and her friend to also fall over, outside a house in Tadworth Street.
The mum had earlier been forced to drive around her attacker as he stood in the road at the junction between Dorking Road and Watts Lane.
Detective Constable Colin Snell, of Surrey Police, said: “We are not sure of the motive behind the assault and would like to establish what happened at suspect and the victim's first encounter to see if this makes things a little clearer.
“This incident obviously left the victim shaken and scared the children who witnessed it.
“At the time the assault took place there were many people around who may have seen the suspect approaching or leaving the scene and we would like them to contact us.”
The man was described as white, aged in his mid-30s, with olive skin, dark hair with a quiff at the front and unshaven. He was of medium build, about 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a black and grey tracksuit top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
Anyone with information about the assault at 7.30am on Thursday, September 23, should call Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference RB/10/8945.
