More than 100 women joined together for a multicultural dinner party to mark the end of the Islamic holy month of fasting on September 17.
Sabrang Ladies Group celebrated the three-day Eid festival with a spread of traditional Asian food before dancing the night away to a DJ at Mitcham’s Chak 89 restaurant.
Zeba Sheikh, who handled the food serving on the night, was awarded a t-shirt with the South Norwood group’s logo for being the most supportive member of the society.
Leader Zahida Akhtar was nominated as a Croydon Champion last year for her work with the Sabrang, meaning all colours, which she started in 2001.
