Art lovers in Elmbridge no longer have to travel up to the exclusive dealers in London to buy work by Pablo Picasso.
Over the next two weeks, the Weybridge-based Globe Gallery is offering hand-signed prints by the Spanish master for sale from £2,000.
The reproductions join an impressive collection at the Gallery in Church Street, which includes two watercolours and a pencil drawing by Russian artist Marc Chagall, a bronze bas relief by fellow Spaniard Salvador Dali and prints by Picasso’s friend and fierce rival Henri Matisse.
Co-owner of the gallery, Fiona Peischl, said: “Picasso said ‘Give me a museum and I will fill it’. We’ve gone one step better. Not only are our walls covered with a fabulous selection of works by Picasso, but unlike a museum you can take these home to enjoy on your own walls.
“Acquiring your first Picasso is more affordable than you might think. We are selling them at anywhere from a couple of thousand to as high as you want to go.
“Our hand-picked collection of pieces by the modern master range from some of his most iconic images to amusing self-portraits and quirky portrayals of his favourite characters.”
