Was French artist Paul Gauguin a genius or a madman, or both?
This will be the subject of a talk by distinguished Weybridge-based art history scholar Eveline Eaton on October 22.
The lecture coincides with Tate Modern Gauguin blockbuster exhibition, which opened at the Southbank gallery last week, and funds will go towards the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge.
It was organised by Brenda Vey, a patient at the hospice.
She said: “The lecture is being donated by Eveline Eaton and will provide an insight into Gauguin and his work. We hope it will be a sell out. The hospice is an important local support facility. It requires £2m annually to finance its work and relies on fundraising to meet its costs.”
The lecture takes place at the Catholic Church Hall, in Portmore Way, Weybridge, at 7.15pm.
Tickets cost £12 and include a glass of wine and refreshments.
