Fishing line left by the Thames in Walton tangled up a doberman’s legs last weekend.
The dog, Snoopy, was unhurt, but complaints have been raised over the mess left behind by fishermen on the stretch between Elmbridge Leisure Centre and Hampton Court bridge.
Dog walker Pauline Watson, 71, was walking Snoopy on Sunday morning when she spotted his front and back legs had been wrapped up in the discarded line.
She said: “I know they have got to fish, but why won’t they clear up?”
Dozens of people drop their floats in the Thames, from Hurst Park through to Walton Bridge, making the most of the free fishing.
