Kingston is getting another exclusive taste of the X Factor this year.

McCluskys has signed a deal to get the contestants there each week to perform.

The riverside club secured a contract with the talent show last year, and has sealed the deal again, so as of November 6, the contestant booted out the previous week will perform at the club.

Manager Mark Byford said: "It's a great event and such a high profile TV show.

"To have the finalists live at McCluskys again is great news. This year will be even better than last year. We put on a great show last year and this year, well just wait and see."

They have a guarantee that every contestant up to the last four will perform there, and then they have an option to bid for the acts placed second and third.

Last year, clubbers were treated to Welsh hearthrob Lloyd Daniels, pub rocker Jamie “afro” Archer and the terrible twins John and Edward Critcher - dubbed Jedward by the tabloids.

The coiffured twins spoke exclusively to the Surrey Comet backstage after their gig last year, where an excitable Edward said: "I feel like there are so many fans out there. We are just doing it for them, and the Surrey Comet."

Not everybody enjoyed the nights though - Leanne Bedward wrote on the club's Facebook page that she was boycotting the club until the X Factor evenings stopped.

Mr Byford said: "The majority did like it. We know not everyone is into the X Factor, but to have such a high profile event at Mccluskys is great for our customers and Kingston."
