Despite the wet afternoon at Epsom Downs Racecourse troops were out in force for the finale meeting of the season.
The racecourse gave out 500 tickets to the charity Tickets for Troops in support of the armed forces and troops enjoyed an afternoon of racing on Saturday, October 2.
The first race, the Tickets For Troops Handicap was won in style by the favourite, Resurge, and the trophy was presented by Lance Corporal Lindsay McCann, Lance Corporal Jimmy McLachlan from the Army and Corporal Paul Farthing from the RAF who is due for deployment to Afghanistan in November.
Sibling quartet Stringfever provided racegoers with a performance before and after racing, along with the Phoenix Jazz Band.
