Londoners are being asked to sleep rough for a night on Friday, November 19.

The mass sponsored sleep is being organised by Action for Brazil's Children Trust (ABC Trust) to raise money for projects supporting underprivileged children in Brazil.

The 12-hour mass sponsored sleep out will take place at Spitalfield's Market in East London from 7pm.

Bear Grylls is supporting the event. He said: “The Big City Sleep is such a fun but powerful way for people to show their support and solidarity for the thousands of children and young people who are forced to live and work on the streets of Brazil.

“With the sponsorship money and awareness raised through this initiative, the ABC Trust will be able to make a real difference to these kids' lives.

“I so admire the efforts of every sleeper who takes part in the Big City Sleep for their determination and desire to help bring about change through this very personal challenge - keep warm.”
