A vintage fun fair is coming to Battersea Park for Halloween.
Many of the rides at Carters Steam Fair date back to the early 1900s and one ride, Gallopers carousel, dates back to 1895.
John Carter fell in love with the fair in 1976 purchasing it a few weeks later. Over the years it has been visited by celebrities from Mick Jagger to the late Diana, Princess of Wales and ten years ago the late Michael Jackson tried to purchase the fair for his Neverland ranch in the US. The offer was rejected.
Carters Steam Fair will be in Battersea Park from October 23 to October 31. It will be open daily from 11am to 6pm.
