Sutton Police will be in Asda on Saturday October 16 to chat to customers.
Customers can sit down with the police officers and enjoy tea and coffee provided free of charge by Asda.
Matt Featherstone, the new store manager at Asda, Sutton, said: “I’ve chatted to loads of customers since arriving and many of them like the idea of having somewhere like our café as a community facility. We are keen to work with officers in the Town Centre to make this happen. We feel that it will be of real value to our customers, the local community and the police.”
Inspector Richard Hall, who is in charge of Sutton’s town centre police team, said: “This initiative provides us with a great way to hear residents’ views in a relaxed atmosphere over a cup or tea or coffee. I’m sure this venture will be a great success.”
The two police officers will be in store from 11am.
