Staines Town had to settle for their third 3-3 draw of a season after being denied by a last-minute equaliser at Dorchester Town on Saturday.
Dorchester player-manager Ashley Vickers was able to play in this 1pm kick off, having had his much publicised red card for downing the Borat impersonator rescinded.
And the hosts took the lead inside three minutes when René Steer’s header took an awkward bounce that deceived keeper Louis Wells, allowing loan-striker Reece Connolly a simple tap in.
Staines were level from their first real attack after Richard Butler was pulled down by home keeper Coward and Dwane Lee netted from the spot.
But it was Vickers who headed the hosts back in front before the break with a glancing header from Flood’s free kick.
Staines equalised for a second time in the 51st minute. Scott Taylor masterminded a neat passing move before centring for Howard Newton who fired a superb low shot into the bottom corner.
And they went ahead with 20 minutes left when Taylor rolled the ball across for Warren Harris to score with a delightful shot.
Butler drew a diving save out of Coward but Staines’ hopes of collecting all three points were dashed in stoppage time when Devlin took a quick corner and Connolly headed home the equaliser in the six-yard box.
