A 43-year-old recruitment manager from Epsom completed the London Marathon this weekend in support of his daughter who suffers with cerebral palsy.
Stephen Morgan was raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation which granted his 16-year-old daughter Shannon’s wish to go on a European cruise in 2010.
Stephen said: “We wanted to say thank you for everything Make-A-Wish has done for us.
Shannon’s wish was an experience we would not have had without Make-A-Wish”.
Completing the 26.2 mile course in four hours and 56 minutes Stephen hopes to raise £2,600 to help make other children’s wish come true.
Karen England, Director of Fundraising at Make-A-Wish, says: “We are incredibly grateful to Stephen for his impressive and athletic efforts on behalf of our charity.
Fundraisers like Stephen help us to grant more magical wishes to brave and deserving young people, like Shannon. I hope that he enjoys a well-deserved rest.”
20,000 children and young people in the UK are currently fighting a life-threatening illness.
