A woman from Epsom has raised over £1,900 for Parksinson’s UK by completing the Virgin London Marathon this weekend in four hours 49 minutes.
Cat O’Donovan from Limecroft Close ran for Parkinson’s UK after seeing first hand the impact the disease can have.
Cat said: “My dad had Parkinson’s for over a decade so it’s the charity that’s closest to my heart.
I’d recommend anyone to do it because it’s a really rewarding experience.
I think it was a lot harder than a lot of runners had hoped because of the heat but it was a really good day and a really fun experience.
I had lots of friends come to watch and they all cheered me on.
The atmosphere was just beautiful.
It was a fantastic day.”
Cat joined 177 others running for Parkinson’s who hope to raise over £280,000 for the charity.
Parkinson’s UK provides vital support for those with the disease and their carers, as well as continuing to fund research to help find a cure.
