Wandsworth may not be able to boast the highest number of Royal Wedding street parties - but it can lay claim to one of the country’s most dedicated fans.
John Loughrey, of Steerforth Street, Earlsfield, became the first person to stake-out a viewing spot outside Westminster Abbey on Monday in preparation for the big day.
The 56-year-old will be celebrating along with the nation as Prince William and Kate Middleton finally get married on Friday after months of anticipation.
A final surge in street party applications saw Wandsworth finish second on the London-wide list of party hosts, with an impressive tally of 79.
Neighbouring Richmond was crowned the street party capital however, with 85.
