A teenager shot dead on a Tulse Hill estate has been named as Nana Darko-Frempong.
Officers were called just after 11pm on Monday, June 6, after the teenager, who is believed to have attended the Archbishop Tenison's School, in Oval, was shot outside Purser House, on the Tulse Hill Estate.
Police attended and found the teenager suffering from gun shot wounds. London Ambulance and the air ambulance attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Friends on social network website Twitter have left tribute messages for the teenager.
One user by the name of SheShe Wills tweeted: "Thought/hoped I'd wake up and it all be a dream. Instead a harsh reality. RIP Nana!! Always making jokes in the common room!"
A neighbour who heard the shots being fired told the Streatham Guardian he heard a woman scream.
The 67-year-old man, who did not want to be identified, said: "I heard three shots and a lot of screaming. I heard a girl shouting 'oh, no'. It sounded like an automatic gun because the shots sounded too fast to be from a pistol."
Family have been informed but he is yet to be formally identified.
The post-mortem examination had been scheduled for 2pm today at Greenwich Mortuary.
At this early stage witnesses have told police that they heard several gunshots and a vehicle leaving the scene.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses to Mr Darko-Frempong's murder.
An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Gordon Allison from Trident.
DCI Allison said: "We would urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything between the hours of 9.30pm and 11pm, or seen a suspicious vehicle in the area at the time of this murder, to contact us and assist us in this investigation."
There have been no arrests at present. Enquiries continue.
Any witnesses or anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8247 4554 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
