Residents are invited to a community picnic and fair, which organisers hope will pave the way for the return of the Sutton Green Fayre.
The event on Sutton Green will offer family fun and games, including fairground stalls, arts and heritage activites.
All proceeds will go to local charities including the Mayor’s chosen charity Sutton Work Start, which helps the borough’s 18-24-year-olds into employment.
It is hoped the event will help bring back the traditional Sutton Green Fayre, which was held annually from the 1950s until the 1980s.
The picnic, which is sponsored by Asda, will take place on July 23, from 2pm to 5pm, and residents need to bring their own picnics and rugs.
If any groups in Sutton would like to have a stall at no cost, to raise funds for their own organisations or contribute to the Mayor’s charity, please contact Janet Lowne 0208 642 3471 or Marlene Heron 0208 644 6337.
