Intrepid explorers have crossed seen a new side of their city with a walk across London’s most famous bridges.
Guides, Brownies and Rainbows from New Malden, Mitcham and Worcester Park joined 4,000 others from around the city and further afield for the event last weekend.
They zig-zagged across the Thames from Westminster to Tower Bridge in sight of landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye.
Some girls made their Guiding promise, a commitment to help others and do their best, while on the Millennium Bridge in the middle of the route.
Christine Wicks, county commissioner for greater London west, said: “It was great for the girls to see so many other Rainbows, Brownies and Guides on the route who had come from all over the south of England.”
