A former airline pilot who makes his fortunes selling old Boeings could convert one of his old planes into a one-bedroom apartment.

Mustafa Azim Aolad, from Avenue Road, Wallington, was approached by a representative from Two Chimneys Holiday Park, in Kent, about creating the “aero-studio”.

Mr Aolad's usual customers are Chinese who frequently buy up all the parts and sell them as scrap metal so this is real departure for the 45-year-old father-of-two.

He said: “The plan is to unbolt the wings and tail and drop off the body of the plane in Birchington.

“It will then be remodelled into a luxury pad, fully furnished with kitchenette, one very luxurious bedroom suite and a lounge.

“It has never been done in the UK and Two Chimneys want something different to offer their customers.”

The former Bangladeshi Airways pilot originally lost his job because of cutbacks in the airline industry.

The aero-apartment is the latest in a series of plane-based projects by Mr Aolad which include his famous “Chopperdom" flying restaurant - another old aircraft he converted into a airborne diner.

Chopperdom has attracted a host of international stars such as Hugh Hefner, rapper Ice T and soul-singer Isaac Hayes all apparently tucked into the 45-year-old’s mile-high cuisine includingBangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
