A music scholar faces a busy summer of performance and filming after she was selected for a new TV show.
Sophie Plummer, who lives in Kingston with her sister and parents, will star in ITV’s latest entertainment show, Born to Shine, which challenges talented youngsters to teach famous faces a new skill.
The 14-year-old’s celebrity is television presenter, Dawn Porter, who she will be teaching to sing the blues live on television.
Sophie has sung solo at London’s O2 Arena, won Surrey’s Got Talent and is double finalist of Open Mic and Britain Does Variety.
Sophie’s mum, Louise said: “It has been a fantastic experience for Sophie, particularly filming with Dawn and the ITV team in our garden shed.”
The show, which will be presented by former BBC news reader Natasha Kaplinsky and judged by Denise Van Outen and Jason Gardiner, will also raise money for Save the Children.
