Chart toppers the Scissor Sisters entertained racegoers with their controversial and transgressive form of pop on Wednesday, July 20.

The band, led by Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, thrilled the crowd with songs such as Laura, Filthy and their latest single Night Work, before ending the night with Dancin!.

David Mackinnon, managing director at Sandown Park, said: “This was our first concert of the summer, which brought in a strong crowd of Scissor Sisters fans, who seemed to had a great evening singing and dancing along to all their songs.

“Next week we have Tom Jones and with one of our enclosures already sold out I would recommend booking your tickets now to avoid disappointment.”

Before the music, the course also played host to a number of celebrities, including fashionistas Trinny and Susannah, sports presenter Clare Balding and TV chat show host Jeremy Kyle, who was there cheering on his wife’s horse Dollar Bill.
