An Ashtead man has been bailed after being charged with possession of heroin and cocaine earlier this month.
Lyn Simon Fenn, 37, of Brookers Close, Ashtead, was charged with two counts of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply on Wednesday, July 6, after being stopped by police on March 28.
He appeared before South East Surrey Magistrates Court in Redhill on Friday and has been remanded on unconditional bail until September 20 to come back to the same court for a committal hearing.
Mr Fenn was stopped by officers from the Mole Valley Safer Neighbourhood team in St Martins Walk and items thought to be wraps of heroin and cocaine were found. He was then taken back to Reigate Police Station for questioning and bailed while the seized items were sent for forensic analysis.
Mole Valley Neighbourhood Inspector Terri Poulton, said: "We take drug use and dealing in Mole Valley very seriously and we are constantly looking at ways we can improve on combating the use of drugs but also drug related crimes.
"I do not believe the use of drugs is rapidly increasing in comparison to other areas just that you are hearing a lot more about it from us because our new proactive team gives us the ability to really concentrate on this issue."
