A Weybridge interior designer has launched Lovers Lights, a collection of handmade eco lamps and chandeliers made from recycled glass.
Janis Haves came up with the idea when she was searching for a glass lamp but could not find anything.
To make the lamps, she gets a “mix of clear and coloured glass”, then paints and decorates them.
She said: “This means I can make a lamp to blend with any colour scheme or to any size.”
The lamps are made of between 35 and 120 hand cut pendants, long strips of decorated glass which are then mounted on to a frame creating a rainbow of colour.
She said: “I’m often asked what the inspiration behind Lovers Lights was. I can only say colour. Something amazing happens when you turn on the light behind the colour.”
Prices start from £95 for a small lamp and are available from her website, loverslights.com as well as a number of shops in Surrey, including Gallery 63A in Kingston.
