Jurors failed to reach a verdict this afternoon on whether Richard Davies Jones murdered his wife Laura in Ashtead in December.
After a trial lasting three weeks, the jury at Guildford Crown Court were sent out before lunch to consider a verdict, following the judge's summing-up.
But after an afternoon of deliberations they were unable to reach a verdict and have been sent home to reconvene tomorrow morning.
Mr Davies Jones 33, is accused of stabbing his social worker wife, 31, to death at their Woodfield Lane in Lower Ashtead on December 1.
