A beloved boat-loving pussycat has gone missing from her owners’ narrow boat.
Silver tabby Flossie has holidayed on the boat for the past seven years, since she was a tiny kitten, and has never disappeared before.
Flossie left its owners narrow boat on Saturday, July 23, and did not return.
Margaret and Michael Hing have been searching day and night around Coxes Lock, Addlestone, where they were moored when the cat hopped off for a wander.
Their son David, who lives in Woking, said: “She loves the boat, it’s incredible.
“It’s moored at the bottom of the garden normally and whenever my father goes to fix something on the boat, she runs down after him to get on it. She gets angry when you try to get her off.
“We think she’s probably stuck somewhere because nobody has seen her. She’s quite playful and will jump out at people on the footpath. She’s lovely.”
He said it was not out of character for the cat to have an explore when they moored up, but said it always returned after a few hours.
His parents have to leave their moorings on Friday, July 29, and will head toward their home in Gloucestershire.
They have asked for people in the Addlestone and Weybridge area to be vigilant.
Mrs Hing said: “Everyone has been so helpful and friendly. We really don’t know what else to do and just want her to come home.”
Call the owners on 07835 770716 if you spot Flossie.
