Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman says he will hold his nerve in the Championship transfer market with less than three weeks until the start of the season.
The Sehurst Park chief, who saw his men draw 0-0 at Crawley Town on Saturday, has added Glenn Murray, Jonathan Parr, Kagisho Dikgacoi and Mile Jedinak to his squad so far this summer.
And he believes he is on the verge of adding two or three more new faces to his roster before the weekend.
Freedman fears Palace are being priced out of the market because of the buying power of clubs such as West Ham and Southampton.
But he insists he will wait as long as is necessary to beef up his squad for the coming campaign.
“I’ve got to cut my cloth accordingly. We are not in the same league as the likes of West Ham United and Southampton, who are throwing money at it,” he said.
“If that means a few have to go out before some come in then so be it.
“There is a long time to go until the transfer window closes and I’m just going to have to keep being patient.
“I’ll not just get anyone in because they are available. They have to be right for the club.”
Freedman has been bouyed by news Dikgacoi should be fit for the start of the season after picking up a hamstring injury last week.
And he is happy with the way the squad is shaping up with only friendly games at Borunemouth and Bromley to go.
Although, fans may have to wait a little longer for any hints as to the starting line-up for the season opener against Peterborough.
“We’ve only got the one injury to worry about at the moment, which is very good for pre-season,” he added.
“Crawley was a good test for us. It was a young team and they showed the determination to get a result.
“We’ve still got to get certain players some time on the pitch. Bournemouth are a strong side and I would think we’ll be close to knowing where we stand by the end of the game.”
