An exciting fusion of music worlds will take place on Sunday 31st July at 2pm at the Holy Innocents Church Hall in South Norwood.
Alrick, star of the band Men & Gods (Led Zeppelin-like), returns from USA success to provide a very different kind of music experience using the Theramin (eerie sound known from the Beach Boys and Star Trek), large gongs and sound bowls, and many more, to show the value of sound and music for our sense of wellbeing.
This workshop is in partnership with local music and health champion Catherine Pestano, also an alumna. The topic of sound and wellbeing is coming to increasing attention from the Department of Health and academic researchers.
Catherine says "We are following in the footsteps of Suzi Quattro and bringing the worlds of rock and health closer together". The session will involve everyone participating in creating soothing sounds from a variety of instruments and no previous experience is needed. All abilities and disabilities can be accommodated and people of all ages can take part. The venue, at the Holy Innocents Church Hall in South Norwood, is easily accessible.
