German representatives from Kingston’s partner city visited the Rose Theatre when they came to the borough this month.
The delegates from Oldenburg were in Kingston from July 15 to 17 to strengthen relations between the two cities, who have been twinned since 2000.
The visiting officials included the executive mayor of Oldenburg, councillors and council representatives who enjoyed performances at the Rose Theatre as part of the International Youth Arts Festival.
Like Kingston, Oldenburg attracts many shoppers and visitors to its pedestrianised town centre that boasts a number of theatres and a university with up to 10,000 students.
Councillor Derek Osbourne, leader of Kingston Council, said: "We are continually working on joint initiatives with Oldenburg and each visit strengthens the beneficial relationship that we have."
