Part of Barnes Common was damaged last night after a fire spread from bushes to a row of trees.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at about 10.30pm on Saturday, July 30.
Ten Wandsworth firefighters took about two hours to get the fire under control.
A spokesman said the cause of the fire was not known, but it could be been started by “kids hanging around”.
However, he said the hot weather could have helped it spread.
