Discovering a star is top of the agenda for the new "Sutton's Got Talent" competition.

On Wednesday August 3, young performers under the age of 19 are invited to show a panel their talent at Sutton Playday as part of a free series of events at Sutton Arena.

Athletics, Archery and football coaching from Crystal Palace FC will also feature for youngsters on the day.

Last years' event attracted over 2,000 children and this year the event is free.

Coun Dave Callaghan, Executive Member for Children, Families and Youth Services at Sutton Council, said: "Playday is a great way to put children at the heart of our community. It promises to be a wonderful day."

Sutton Playday takes place between 11am and 4pm, with the final of Sutton’s Got Talent at 3pm. Performers are asked to bring along their own music and props.
