Scout leaders from Sutton will be helping youngsters from around the globe make the most of their summer holidays at this years' World Scout Jamboree.
34,000 scouts will be learning how to enjoy the great outdoors from 7,000 volunteers, two of which are Scout Leaders from Sutton and Carshalton.
David Pearcy from Carshalton and Leslie Button from Sutton will be in Sweden for the event which will be taking place between July 27 and August 7 2011 in the fields of Rinkaby.
Electrician by day, David Pearcy said: "I'm here to get stuck in and do what I can to make the event great, it makes sense to use the skills I have professionally in a voluntary capacity. It's great I've never done anything like this before."
Chief Scout and star of TV Bear Grylls said: "While lots of people know that Scouting is all about adventure, they often don't realise that adult volunteers get to do just as much as our young members through their involvement."
Nature is a key theme for this years' Jamboree programme using the natural environment as a learning tool, demonstrating both its vulnerability and what individuals can do to better protect the world.
