A teenager has been charged after a man was held at knifepoint and robbed in West Ewell last week.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with robbery and will appear at South East Surrey Youth Court on Wednesday.

Police are still looking for three other boys believed to have been involved.

The attack happened at around 6.30pm on Monday, July 25, in the park area near the junction of Ruxley Lane and Scotts Farm Road.

The 21-year-old victim was approached by a group of four black teenagers.

Two of them blocked his path while one of them pressed a knife into his stomach as another pinned his arms behind his back.

They took his wallet and two mobile phones before they left.

The victim flagged down a passing cyclist who gave chase and caught up with two of the muggers and asked them to give the wallet back. One of the teenagers replied that they didn’t know what he was talking about before cycling off towards Hogsmill Common.

The boy with the knife is described as skinny, around 5ft 5in, with cropped, black hair. He was clean shaven and wearing a white t-shirt.

One of the other boys is described as being of an athletic build, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9in , with cropped, black hair. He was also clean shaven and was wearing a black, puffy, sleeveless jacket with a zip down the front with a chain hanging from it, over a dark, possibly red, t-shirt and blue jeans. He was carrying a metal crutch.

The third teenager is described as between 5 ft 8in and 5ft 9in, of a larger build than the other three, clean shaven with dark hair and wearing a grey hooded top with no zip.
