A tennis club is staging its annual tournament for young people this week.
So far more than 120 aspiring tennis champions from local clubs and neighbouring counties have entered the competition at Wigmore Lawn Tennis Club near Streatham High Road.
The tournament, which is now in its fifth year, is open to children aged five to 18.
Tournament referee Rhian Hayes said representatives from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) would be on the lookout for up and coming players.
She said: “You get some very good regional standard players. The LTA try to identify talent in the 10 and under age group. That’s how they are trying to change things, by identifying talent early.”
Tournament places cost between £8-11 to enter depending on age. Call 02087693671 for more information.
