A man has be re-bailed after he was arrested in connection with two attempted abductions in Leatherhead last month.
The 28-year-old was arrested on July 20 after the attempted abductions of two women on July 17 and July 19.
He was bailed to return on July 29, but has been bailed again to return on August 14 pending further enquiries.
In the first incident a 20-year-old woman was approached in Bridge Street and grabbed from behind by a man and pulled into an alleyway. The woman screamed several times before managing to run away and alert police.
In the second incident two days later the victim was walking near Downsend School, in Leatherhead Road, sometime between 12.30am and 1am, when a man grabbed her by the top of her dress, telling her to come with him.
At this point a silver Jeep pulled up, causing the man to let go of the woman and make off in the direction of Ashtead. The female driver took the victim home but did not leave any contact details.
Police are still appealing for the driver of the Jeep to come forward and are still conducting enquiries into both incidents.
