A writer and director from Wandsworth is hoping to see the community get behind him after being shortlisted for a London-wide film award.
Wandsworth-based Douglas Hart is contention to win a Best of Borough (Bob) Film Award for his black comedy Long Distance Information - and readers can help him triumph by voting for his film to win.
The short film is about a strained relationship between a father (played by Peter Mullan) and his 20- year-old son, who are as distant emotionally as they are in miles. It is set between East Kilbride and London on Christmas Day.
The film was made through the Shorts Film Fund, a scheme run by Wandsworth and other London councils as part of the London Borough Film Challenge (LBFFC). The initiative contributes funding for the production of short films.
The Bob awards are run annually by Film London, with support from Boris Johnson and Skillset. They aim to find the best shortlisted films produced through the LBFFC.
A cash prize of £2,000 is given to the winner of the Jury Award and the Audience Award. Both will be presented at an event at Bafta in September.
The Shortlisted films can be viewed at filmlondon.org.uk.bobs. Readers can watch them now and cast a vote for the winner of the Audience Award. Voting closes on August 31.
