Legendary Olympian Steve Parry will attend a leisure centre event to inspire children to take up aquatic sports.
Zoggs’ Oceans of Fun day on Saturday, August 13, has 400 free kids spaces to fill.
The event at Xcel Leisure Centre, Walton, is for those aged seven to 14 who want to experience four Olympic aquatic, including diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and fast swimming.
Double Olympian and Commonwealth champion swimmer Ross Davenport will also be there with British team water polo player and 2012 hopeful Jake Vincent.
The event will feature a morning or afternoon of skills and games across the different aquatic disciplines, with instruction from the athletes.
Mr Parry said: “Zoggs is a swim brand with a real passion for swimming and, by using role models in the form of Olympic and Commonwealth athletes, we hope to inspire, motivate and educate young people who will have the chance to come along and take part in these events for free.
“They will not only learn a huge amount at these events but get a once in a lifetime chance to swim against a top athlete and, we hope, begin to understand the benefits, and enjoyment, of adopting an active, healthy lifestyle.”
