Dominic Raab MP was treated to lessons in waterway management, flood risks and river locks recently.
The Esher and Walton MP toured Molesey lock on July 27 and met with the lock keeper Steve Bowlam, and volunteer John Graham, among others.
Mr Raab said: “Molesey lock has a long history, but it has never been more relevant or important.
“The team do an essential job in managing the waterway and the risk of flooding.
“Dozens of local volunteers like John Graham also provide invaluable support, which gives the operation a community feel.”
