A block of flats was evacuated after a fire broke out yesterday.
About 30 residents had to leave their homes in Chatsworth House, in Idmiston Road, at about 11.30am after the fire in a first floor studio flat.
Fire investigators are still looking into what caused the blaze.
The resident of the flat told firefighters he returned home to find his home was on fire.
The fire is understood to have started in a bed.
Flames badly damaged half of the studio, which was also severely smoke damaged.
Smoke alarms in the block alerted residents to the fire.
It was three hours before they were allowed to return to their homes, while firefighters battled the blaze.
