AFC Wimbledon are investigating how a trespasser broke into the ground and ruined part of the pitch.
A source at the club said staff are looking at CCTV footage after a trespasser broke into Kingsmeadow, Kingston, on Saturday night, hours after the club's 4-1 victory over Cheltenham Town.
It appears the trespasser set off a sprinkler which caused a 12-inch hole near the centre circle, but officials said it would be fixed in time for Kingstonian to play Hendon on Saturday.
Kingstonian have been based at Kingsmeadow since 1989 but AFC Wimbledon bought the ground, in Kingston Road, in 2003.
