Bus lovers flocked to Brooklands for the first major event since the opening of London Bus Museum.

The bus museum, known to many as Cobham bus museum, opened its doors within Brooklands Museum in August, revealing a 25,000sq ft purpose-built building to display its impressive bus collection.

Special displays were laid out on Sunday, October 23, and a collectors’ market offered bus memorabilia.

The museum holds the world’s largest private sector collection of London buses and the vehicles tell the story of London’s transport in days gone by.

There are more than 30 complete buses, mostly full restored, from the horse-drawn buses of the late 19th century through to the iconic Routemaster.

VisitorS to Saturday’s event got the chance to ride some of the historic buses, based on routes operated by London Transport in the Weybridge area in the 1950s and 60s.

Admission to the bus hall is included in the standard admission price to Brooklands Museum.
