A community group organised a benefit fund-rising gig to raise money for a local business badly affected by the riots.
The gig at the Glamorgan Pub, Cherry Orchard Road, was organised by Residents for Regeneration, in aid of The TV Shop which sustained large losses during the disorder in Croydon on August 8.
The store's display windows were smashed through and the shop was continually looted over a give-hour period causing substantial damage.
More than 140 residents and businesses attended the fundraiser on October 22, with Grant Francis, landlord of The Glamorgan, generously donating 10 percent of the night's bar-takings.
Local bee-keepers Mike and Sue of Bees 'n' Beans and the Country Park Beekeepers' Association donated a basket of delicious locally produced honey, raising £50. The total funds raised during the evening came to £1,433.
