Plans for a half million pound revamp of New Addington are set to go on display.

On Saturday, November 19, at 6.45pm the Christmas lights will be turned on in the town and to celebrate this plans to spend £516,000 from the Outer London Fund will go on show.

Three stages of improvements will begin at the end of November with a deep cleaning programme.

Improvements will then be made in the market area include surfacing work, new lighting, power points and planters installed while the final stage will see money pumped into improving shop fronts and establishing community events.

Councillor Tim Pollard, cabinet member for regeneration and economic development said: "These works will be completed by the end of March 2012, and will make the shopping area much more attractive for customers and businesses and helping to pave the way for future renewal in New Addington."

The design team working on the Central Parade plans will be based in the Pathfinders Community Hub at the Octagon in Central Parade.
